We have written our own instructions to make Reindeer food! We could choose to add:

A huge thank you to the PA for organising the Skittle Man for us as our end of term treat! We had a great time! Christmas has well and truly arrived in Year 2! We have been practising our Nativity and Mrs Austin has built an amazing Elf Workstation in 2W. The children have loved dressing up and wrapping presents, writing cards and playing Christmas games.
A huge thank you to all the parents who donated paper, cards and decorations for us to use - we've been having a ball! After learning about the range of food groups we need to stay healthy, we have designed our own healthy salad and today we started to make them. Very carefully, we learned to how to grate, peel, slice and chop our food, before gobbling up our salad! Yum! We had such a fantastic day at our Florence Nightingale workshop. We loved meeting Miss Nightingale in her home in Italy, where she taught us how to bow and curtsey properly. We had lots of different activities in the morning including applying for a job and made lots of interesting things to take with us on our journey. After break, we met Florence at Paris train station. She had lost one of her suitcases and it was our job to sort the suitcases and put the correct tag on them! We went back to meet Florence after lunch where the hall had been transformed to a hospital! We had great fun using our drama skills to pretend to be injured soldiers or caring nurses! We learnt about the different tasks nurses would have undertaken at the hospital during the war!
Take a look at our beautiful whale art work! We used watered down paint to create a colour wash, added a sea using different brushstrokes and then topped our pictures off with collage. Don't they look brilliant! We have been learning about the Jewish Festival of Sukkot. During this 'Harvest' festival, they build a Sukkah. A sukkah is a structure consisting of a roof made of organic material. A sukkah must have three walls. We constructed our own Sukkas out of biscuits, lego or lolly sticks! We have been learning and ordering the story of Jonah and the whale! We've been recapping 2D shapes and have spent this morning searching for 2D shapes in our environment. Sometimes we find it hard to distinguish between a pentagon and a hexagon, so any practise at home will help! |
